How much does an appointment cost?admin

Dr. Kemp is a member of the Australian Psychological Society College of Clinical Psychologists, so is able to provide Specialist Psychology Services. This means that if you are referred under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, you will receive a higher benefit from Medicare.

Costs vary depending on the type of service required, and whether you are referred by their medical practitioner under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan.
The cost for each session is $246. This is the fee recommended by the Australian Psychological Society. If you have a Health Care Card, the concession rate is $190 per session. If you are referred by your general practitioner under the GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, Medicare will give a rebate of $124.50 per session. Hence, the gap for each appointment is $121.50 (or $65.50 if you have a Health Care Card).

If you are not referred to Dr. Kemp under the GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, you may still be entitled to claim a rebate if you have private health insurance. You should contact your private health insurer prior to your consultation to find out how much your rebate will be.
